Kaye Shireman loves to visit OCSO and always has a surprise for us. She is the daughter of Heather Shireman and St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Mark Shireman and the niece of OCSO Deputy William Hill and his wife Lee County Sheriff’s Office Communications Supervisor Hailey Hill. On May 19, 2018, starting promptly at 10:00 a.m. at Freedom Ranch, 11655 Hwy. 441 SE, Okeechobee, Quilts of Honor along with Freedom Ranch, will be presenting three deputies of the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office a quilt as a thank you for their service. Deputy Sheriff Quinton Speed, Deputy Sheriff Jack Nash and Deputy Sheriff Steve Pollock are each a Veteran of the Armed Forces and are Combat Veterans. The 2018 OCSO Law Enforcement Memorial will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. on the front steps at the Sheriff’s Office. This memorial will recognize those Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty in the year 2017. This memorial is open to the public and we’d like to encourage everyone to attend.
