MOCK CRASH 2018
The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office with the help of the Okeechobee County Fire Rescue and the Community Health Assessment Team of the Florida Department of Health was able to bring an awesome event to the student body of the Okeechobee High School today.
A “Mock Crash” set up on the football field, for the juniors and seniors. The vehicles were provided by BMJ Towing, the performers were provided by Mrs. Debbie Raulerson’s drama classes and the helicopter was provided by Aero Med.
The scene was that of a crash that occurred just as prom ended. The driver of vehicle #1 was drunk and caused the crash. There were 5 performers total: 1 was dead, 1 was critical and flown out, 2 were transported to the hospital and the drunk driver was walking around. D/S Tyler Ott, D/S Maria Camacho and D/S Christina Torres were the investigators. The drunk driver was taken to jail.
We would like to thank Brian Sell with Florida Department of Health CHAT (Community Health Assessment Team) group and his assistant Linda Hazellief, Deputy Fire Chief Earl Wooten, Captain Justin Hazellief and all involved with Okeechobee County Fire Rescue; and most importantly the staff at the High School.
To all the students we pray for you…
Lord God, We ask for your almighty hand to be upon all those students in attendance at the senior prom. Bless their lives from this day on with goodness and love. Help them to stay true to their dreams, to use their gifts wisely, and to walk into the future with faith, hope, and great love. Amen.
