On behalf of Sheriff Noel E. Stephen we would like to introduce our newest "Special Deputy for the Day" Mr. Conner Jackson, excuse me, Special Deputy Conner Jackson.

Conner has been fighting Chiari Malformation and Hydrocephalus for most of his young life; these ailments have caused him to undergo 24 surgeries to date. Conner also has Aspergers and is nothing short of a tough young man.

When Sheriff Stephen heard that Conner's dream was to be a Deputy Sheriff for Okeechobee ...County Sheriff's Office, he immediately put his Community Relations team to work.

After Sheriff Stephen gave Conner the "Oath of Special Deputy" Deputy Conner received his very own unique identification, badge, and magic bracelet, Conner got right to work arresting Deputy Robert Gonzalez with the help of Deputy Ivan Aristy. Conner then went "on patrol" with lights and sirens before ending his time with us with a group photo.
