STOP

In conjunction with several other law enforcement agencies in the state of Florida the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted enforcement activities in various school zones and bus routes. The goal of the operation was to have a visible presence, enforcement, and educational efforts all for the benefit of creating a safe environment for our children.

One of the methods used by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office was to have teams of School Resource Officers riding on buses with our children. Their purpose was to report any observed violations to other nearby School Resource Officers operating unmarked patrol vehicles, so enforcement/education actions could be taken.

The operation consisted of roughly 14 total man hours and no violations. In closing, the operation was successful and wholeheartedly contributed to keeping our children safe and educating the community as a whole.
