School Crossing Guard Appreciation Week

It's hard to miss them in their new eye-popping, neon-yellow school crossing guard uniform. That's the idea!
Okeechobee County has three very special men that keep our children safe while heading to and from school each day. The Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office would like to recognize each of these men. The Okeechobee County School Crossing Guards are Robert(Bobby) Sippert, Robert(Bob) Baker and Glenn Thomas.

These men are truly UNSUNG, everyday heroes of Okeechobee County. These hardy souls are in the middle of rush-hour traffic day in and day out, in all kinds of weather, to attend to the safety needs of our kids. They deserve a friendly smile and a cheerful greeting from all of us for a job well. The next time you see one, tell them thank you or give them a wave or just simply smile at them.

We'd like to thank them and applaud them for the wonderful job they do.

Undersheriff Noel Stephen stated, "These folks are dedicated to the safety of our children traveling to and from our schools. They are there when it is raining or freezing. We appreciate their dedication to the children and our Sheriff's Office."
