We are finalizing our plans for our 2011 Law Enforcement Torch Run on Saturday, April 16, 2011. This event is being conducted by Law Enforcement Officers, throughout our Nation, to bring awareness and recognition to the Special Olympics.
The Okeechobee Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team will be leading the Torch Run and will be starting from the Okeechobee County Sheriff Office, located at 504 Northwest 4th Street Okeechobee, Florida 34972 at approximately 9:20 A.M. The S.R.T. Team and other Law Enforcement Officers will run in formation travelling east on Northwest 4th Street, south on Highway 441 and end at our Law Enforcement Torch Corporate Sponsor location of Publix, located at 3551 Highway 441 South Okeechobee, Florida 34974 at approximately 10:00 A.M.
The S.R.T. Team will meet several of our local Athletes, at Publix’s, and walk a lap around the parking lot to show our support to them and our Community. There will then be a brief presentation of the History and direction of the Special Olympics.
If you have anyone that would want to help and support our endeavor just contact Michele Bell or I at (863) 763-3117.
Thank you for always supporting our Sheriff’s Office!
