Sheriff Paul C. May has released the following information:
Reference: Employees of the 2nd Quarter are recognized
Sheriff Paul C. May has recognized four Sheriff’s Office Employees as employees of the second quarter of 2010. There are four categories for which employees may be recognized; administration employee, citizen volunteer, Detention Deputy, and Law Enforcement. The recipients are as follows:
Administrative Employee- Deborah Deloney, Kitchen Supervisor
Citizen Volunteer- Auxiliary Lieutenant Keith Pierce
Detention Deputy- Corporal Philicia Allen
Law Enforcement- Deputy Sarah Green
Deborah Deloney was nominated by Lt. John Rhoden for her work ethics and her devotion to duty. Ms. Deloney is assigned as a supervisor in the jail kitchen and facilitates the feeding of an average 250 inmates daily.
Auxiliary Lieutenant Keith Pierce was nominated by Auxiliary Major Bobby Tucker because in addition to his regular voluntary weekend shifts, he has taken over the responsibility of assigning Auxiliary Road Details to Auxiliary Officers and frequently works the unpaid details himself.
Corporal Philicia Allen was nominated by Lieutenant John Cain for her positive attitude and diligence in planning while completing a difficult job. She is a transport officer whose responsibilities include: transportation of prisoners to court, transportation of prisoners to prison, directing deputies in working assignments in court, planning and completing overnight transports.
Deputy Sarah Green was nominated by Detective Farless and Captain Bud Slay for her attentiveness to duty. On April 21, 2010, Deputy Green, while conducting a stand by complaint, noticed behavior and evidence that led to an investigation of aggravated, physical child abuse. Her discovery of the abuse and timely calling for emergency medical services saved the life of a small toddler and lead to the arrest of two of the child’s caretakers.
Employees of the Quarter/Employees of the Year:
Employees of the Quarter are employees who are nominated by fellow employees and immediate supervisors. The Undersheriff and Division Commanders choose one nominee from each category to recognize outstanding performance, exceptional service, and acts that exceed normal expectations of the job requirements.
Employees of the Year are chosen from the four recipients of Employee of the Quarter throughout the year.
