Since 1995, Big Lake Missions Outreach has provided hot homemade meals five days a week; food pantry, including household items, clothing and hygiene items; help for victims of fires; bibles, holiday baskets and an annual toy giveaway.

Big Lake Missions Outreach of Okeechobee, is a finalist in the Organization of the Year – Okeechobee category, in the 211 Helpline awards.

211 Helpline is a non-profit organization, servicing all the Treasure Coast & Palm Beach County. 211 is a confidential, non-judgmental helpline available 24/7 to individuals who find themselves in a situation without knowing whom to contact in order to obtain the information, referrals or answers to the problems they are facing. 211 is essentially the "gateway" to all the other health, human service and governmental organizations in the community.

The Non-Profit Awards event will be held on May 1, 2014, at the PGA Country Club in Port St. Lucie, 951 SW Country Club Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL.

The award ceremony will honor the hard work and dedication of agencies in the communities.
