The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office recently received a donated 1998 22’ Zodiac boat. Undersheriff Noel Stephen had been looking for a boat for the Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue Unit and contacted Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw, after learning of his search was willing to donate the boat to Okeechobee Sheriff’s Office.

“This boat is suitable for our use and is by far the safest and most practical boat for our office in the event of a lake rescue mission”, stated Sheriff Paul C. May.

Two employees, Lt. Shannon Peterson and Corporal Matt Hurst assisted in getting the boat lake ready. Lt. Peterson and Cpl. Hurst along with Sgt. Brian Hagan, Sgt. Randy Thomas and D/S Max Waldron will be assisting in future patrols and events within Okeechobee County.
