SHERIFF PAUL C. MAY HAS RELEASED THE FOLLOWING:
Re: FBI's Child ID App
Have you ever been shopping with your child/children and turn the other way for a minute and when you turn back, your child is missing?
The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office encourages any parent, grandparent or guardian of a child to add the FBI’s Child ID App to their iPhones. This is a new tool from the FBI that can help. The iPhone application is FREE and you can download from the App Store on your IPhone or from ITunes on your computer. The "Child ID" app allows users to upload a child's picture, physical description and other personal details.
The FBI says that even though the application is only available now for iPhone users, that soon will change. The FBI plans to expand this application of mobile devices in the near future. For more information, visit: www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2011/august/child_080511/child_080511.
